We have all done it. This local Boca Raton restaurant poured the grease down the drain.  If you are one of these folks that thinks it's ok to pour grease down the drain, get familiar with hydro jetting. When grease is poured down a drain, at first everything seems normal. However, inside your pipes lies a major problem just waiting to happen. Each time grease is poured down the drain it slowly cools. Causing it to harden inside the pipes. Over time this will build up and create a blockage! Most of the times this is a blockage cannot be cleared with a traditional sewer snake. The best option when done using any grease, fats, or oils would be to place them in a container and throw them into the trash. What is hydro jetting? Hydro jetting is a way of cleaning a sewer pipe using high pressured water. The machine has a long hose with specially designed ends to pressure clean the interior walls of the pipe. This is the safest and best way to clean out a system. The extreme water flow and pressure can clear any clogged line. Jetting is not just limited to grease blockages. It can be used to remove roots, or even descale a cast iron pipe! If you have any questions or are in need of our plumbing services call our office today! LOCATION: Boca Raton FL, 33431 (Hydro Jetting) CAUSE OF PROBLEM: Repeat Sewer Back Ups. RESOLUTION: There are many ways to go about maintaining your drain system. The original sewer cleaning machine was invented in 1933 by Samuel Blanc. Since then so much has changed and the plumbing industry has many technical upgrades in systems and equipment used to maintain them. one of the most popular methods of drain cleaning is called Hydro Jetting. Hydro jetting is a machine that is used to pressure clean the interior walls of pipe systems. There is no better way to clean grease or a soft blockage in a sewer. The equipment is capable of delivering 4000 psi at 18 gallons a minute. There are even hydro jetters used by municipalities that are larger and more power to maintain the larger city sewers. The sewer cable machine is still used to this day, however, it has its drawbacks. A cable machine can only reach so far where a Hydro Jetter can max out 500 plus feet. The hydrojetter can self propel itself down a sewer pipe. Which means less stress to a plumbers body. The way the machine works is that it has a motor and a pump. Which cause pressure to build up and send water into a high pressured hose. From the hose, it will travel to what is known as the head. The jet head has holes allowing a 360-degree cleaning of the pipe. To find out more information you can visit our main website at www.Rhino-Rooter.com and learn more. Location: Residential Home in Boca Raton FL, 33428 Cause of Problem: Toilet running though the night. Resolution: Rhino Rooter received a service request from a customer located in Boca Raton FL for toilet running. The customer notice that there toilet would constantly make noises. Luckily Rhino Rooter repairs toilets running. They stated they first notice the problem because the noise would keep they up at night. When the Rhino Rooter plumber arrived he performed some diagnostic work on the toilet. The plumber also found that the home owner's water bill had a significant increase. The cause was a failing flapper and fill valve. The fill valve/ballcock is located inside the tank area of your toilet. The design for the fill valve/ballcock has a built in float. The water enters your toilet tank via the fill valve. Once the toilet reaches to correct level, the float becomes lifted and in return shuts the valve closed to stop water from filling up the toilet tank. The flapper is the mechanism that allows the filled tank to transfer into the bowl when the handle is pushed. The design behind the flapper is to seal the water in the tank until the handle is pushed then automatically close once the transfer of water is completed. The flapper is connected to the handle by a chain. Most flappers will be made of rubber and warp over time. This will cause a slow leak from tank to the bowl which will cause the water level to drop and kick on the fill valve to re-fill to appropriate level. Once these parts where replaced the toilet was working in perfect condition. If your toilet is making any funny noises call us today and have a professional make the needed repairs. Location: Boca Raton FL, 33496 Cause of the Problem: Broken Water Line inside condo building. Resolution: On early Wednesday morning Rhino Rooter received and emergency call for a major leak inside a residential building. Plumbers where dispatched out to the location immediately! Once they arrived they were rushed over to the main lobby where water was pouring out from the ceiling, the source was a broken main line. A main water line is what feeds water to the building, its also know as the "building main" or main water line". The plumbers set up ladders to access the area of concern. It was found that the buildings broken water line was a galvanized steel pipe. Galvanized pipe will "rust out" over time. As the pipe starts to deteriorate, the thread connections usually show the first signs of problems. Its common to see the connections of pipe to be rusted. The cause of this is due to that area becomes stripped of its zinc protective coating. The coating is to prevent it from rusting to rapidly. Galvanized pipe was used in the 1960's as a replacement to the old lead water pipes. The Rhino Rooter team was able to locate to the damaged section of pipe. The Plumbers cut out a section of the broken water line and installed a new section of copper pipe. They were able to connect the existing main water pipe to the new copper by re-threading the steel pipe and connecting with dielectric unions. The dielectric union will help prevent rusting, or the two types of pipe materials from fusing together. Once the problem was fixed the water was restored to the building and remaining system was inspected for any other leaks. If you have a water leak or see rusting on your old metal pipes call us at             (954) 651-3229 in Broward or (561) 717-8523 in Palm Beach.
