Resolution:
Rhino Rooter received a service request from a customer located in Boca Raton FL for toilet running. The customer notice that there toilet would constantly make noises. Luckily Rhino Rooter repairs toilets running. They stated they first notice the problem because the noise would keep they up at night. When the Rhino Rooter plumber arrived he performed some diagnostic work on the toilet. The plumber also found that the home owner’s water bill had a significant increase. The cause was a failing flapper and fill valve. The fill valve/ballcock is located inside the tank area of your toilet. The design for the fill valve/ballcock has a built in float. The water enters your toilet tank via the fill valve. Once the toilet reaches to correct level, the float becomes lifted and in return shuts the valve closed to stop water from filling up the toilet tank.
The flapper is the mechanism that allows the filled tank to transfer into the bowl when the handle is pushed. The design behind the flapper is to seal the water in the tank until the handle is pushed then automatically close once the transfer of water is completed. The flapper is connected to the handle by a chain. Most flappers will be made of rubber and warp over time. This will cause a slow leak from tank to the bowl which will cause the water level to drop and kick on the fill valve to re-fill to appropriate level. Once these parts where replaced the toilet was working in perfect condition. If your toilet is making any funny noises call us today and have a professional make the needed repairs.
